In one of the four webinars inclusive in 2014 Advocacy Section membership, Gordon Turner provides key advice on how solicitor advocates can prepare for and succeed at an employment tribunal

Gordon Turner

Speaker: Gordon Turner

Employment tribunals offer a great opportunity for solicitors interested in advocacy. Claims can involve small and singular issues like a pay deduction, and complex high value claims such and TUPE and discrimination. Solicitors often have the upper hand against counsel, who are often briefed very late in the day.

Speaker Gordon Turner he will provide key advice on how to prepare for and succeed at a tribunal, covering:

  • preparation: skeleton arguments, cross-examination and submissions;
  • conduct of the hearing;
  • managing witnesses and evidence;
  • how to limit surprises; and
  • dealing with unrepresented litigants.

The audio webinar took place at 13:00 on 9 May 2014. You can now view a recorded version.
