Are you a solicitor advocate who specialises in criminal, civil or family advocacy and want to know how to perfect your advocacy skills? Join us at this interactive seminar where Deputy SPJ Lady Justice Macur and Law Society Council member Ian Kelcey will share their practical top tips on how to master the art of good advocacy. 

Deputy SPJ Lady Justice Macur will deliver the keynote address and you will have an opportunity to ask Lady Justice Macur and our panellists including Law Society Council member Ian Kelcey, questions, share your experiences, network with your peers and learn more about what the Advocacy Section has planned for you next year.

The seminar will cover the following areas:

  • How to prepare for court effectively
  • Addressing and engaging the Bench and Jury
  • Practical tips on questioning witnesses
  • Techniques for closing submissions and speeches
