Karen has specialised in family law since she qualified as a solicitor in September 1995. Karen also undertook a post graduate qualification in education, and is a qualified teacher for the 0 to 5 age range.
Karen is deputy head of the family department at Jeffries Solicitors. She has worked across all areas of family law, and currently specialises in divorce and finance matters, including pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, disputes arising out of co-ownership of a property, and money claims in relation to children. She is also a qualified family arbitrator. Some of her more complex cases have involved multiple companies, multiple parties and complex tax arrangements.
Karen is a member of the Law Society Family Panel and has advanced accreditation. She is also a member of the Family Arbitrators Forum. She is a past National Committee member of Resolution, having set up and chaired the regional affiliate for South Essex. She has appeared on BBC Essex, has lectured to barristers and solicitors, and has written articles for law publications.
Karen lives in Southend and is busy in the local community, and with her family. She has connections to music and arts events and the local Park Run. She is also an avid knitter!
